Bishop Buffet’s Chocolate Ambrosia Pie

Submitted by Anne Pillard For the holidays, I usually use recipes for the food that I ate while growing up in Iowa. The recipe below is extremely easy and inspired by the Chocolate Ambrosia pie that the now closed Bishop's Buffet midwest chain used to serve. For my fellow Midwesterners that remember Bishop's Buffet and want to take a trip down memory lane, there is a great article at https://myomahaobsession.com/2016/03/17/for-the-love-of-bishops-buffet-why-oh-why-did-they-close/ This is also where I got the recipe that was submitted by E. Crocker. Ingredients • 1 (3 oz) package instant French vanilla pudding mix • 1 (3 oz) package instant chocolate fudge pudding mix • 2 cups milk • 2 cups vanilla ice cream • 9 inch graham cracker crust • 1 (8 oz) carton frozen non-dairy whipped topping, thawed • Chocolate curls shaved from a 2 pound milk chocolate bar, for garnish Instructions • With an electric mixer, combine pudding mixes and milk. • Add ice cream and beat until just thickened. • Pour into the graham cracker crust. • Top with whipped topping. • With a potato peeler, shave part of the chocolate bar onto top of pie. • Chill before serving.
